THE STORY OF GRADY AUVIL
Guru, saint, sage and occasional pain in the appleseed. GEE WHZ tells the story of an inventive, opinionated fruit farmer who spent a lifetime blazing trails and planting seeds for the future.
Renowned for the introduction of the Granny Smith apple, the Rainier cherry and the Fuji apple, among others, it was with genius and generosity that Grady Auvil shaped the communities of North Central Washington where he farmed for 70 years. This new documentary undertakes a journey into the life of this extraordinary man who forever changed the landscape of the tree-fruit industry.
HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN. GRADY ALWAYS DID.
The GEE WHIZ Project is currently in full fundraising mode, as we work to raise the money necessary to bring the documentary to PBS, as well as to complete a Spanish translation and create associated educational curriculum for schools.
